Lay Health Advisors

Are you concerned about the health of your community?

PACE is seeking residents to become Lay Health Advisors.  Advisors must be residents who live in the area between St. Claude Avenue and North Claiborne Avenue, and Elysian Fields Avenue and Poland Avenue.

Lay Health Advisors will start community projects in this neighborhood.  The goal of their projects should be to increase physical activity and/or improve the neighborhood in some way.  Examples of such projects might be clean up days, walking clubs, gardening clubs, etc.  Any ideas for projects are welcome.

Once Lay Health Advisors are selected by the PACE steering committee, they will attend monthly trainings with the PACE project manager about strategies to organize their projects.  All Lay Health Advisors will be eligible for grants of up to $1,000 for supplies relating to their projects.
