Partnership for an Active Community Environment

The PACE Community Playspace is a new community playground located in the schoolyard of Drew Elementary School.  Although adult supervision is provided during hours the PACE Community Playspace is open, PACE supervisors are on site only to observe children at play, not lead or direct children in any activities.  PACE supervisors are trained in first aid and CPR and are employees of the Recovery School District of New Orleans.  

All children must return a completed enrollment form to participate.  Enrollment forms are available through this site and from Drew Elementary, 3819 St Claude Avenue.  Once enrolled, children may enter and exit the playground on their own as they wish.  

Building the playground was coordinated by KaBOOM!, a national non-profit organization whose mission is to build a playground within walking distance of every child in America.   The playground at Drew Elementary was the 50th playground installed by KABOOM! and involved over 400 volunteers from the New Orleans area and across the country.

The playground equipment was made possible though a generous donation from Disney-ABC Domestic Television.  The playground build was featured prominently by morning television show hosts Regis Philban and Kelly Ripa of LIVE with Regis and Kelly.

• Monday-Friday:
  3:45 - dusk

• Saturday:
  10 am - 3 pm
  

• Sunday:
  1 pm - 4 pm
